Active Westminster, and Champions of the Future Program
“Westminster Sports Unit are proud to work in partnership with DoTraining on our local talent programme ‘Champions of the Future’. DoTraining will focus on strength and conditioning work with our athletes, as well as support on other areas of performance, using various methods to engage and educate athletes. We are excited about the opportunity to develop this partnership and build upon opportunities for our young athletes through the experience and expertise of DoTraining coaches.”
Daniel Clark
Great Britain Men / Professional Basketball Player (ACB, Spain), 2012 Olympian.
“The work I do with DoTraining is based around my off-season and preparing for the national team duty. His dedication and overall enthusiasm towards his work creates the perfect environment to get the most out of your body and mind.
“Duncan has found a way to adapt certain exercises to my necessity’s and to those of a pro basketball player. He has also shown and educated me on how important it is to look after your body and ways I should do that.
“The work I do with Duncan during my off season has been one of the biggest reasons for my success over the last few summers and will no doubt have an important role in off seasons to come.”
Lynn McCafferty
Great Britain Handball Captain, 2012 Olympian.
“DoTraining was part of the Great Britain women’s Olympic handball squad in our most important 15 months of preparation. We have come on leaps and bounds this last year with the help of Duncan who joined our S&C staff to make sure that physically we were preparing the best we could.
“In our last year of preparation before summer 2012 we have had to make sure that we nail our technique in the gym in order to be in better condition and be stronger. Duncan along with his knowledge and motivation has been a part of this development for the team. As a squad we have been extremely lucky to have such support from Duncan as he has shown his passion for sport and individual athletes in his commitment to helping us gain our physical goals.
“Personally I have had great coaching from Duncan which has enabled me to be in the best condition of my life and at the right time. In the last 6 years of being a full time athlete this last year has been the year I have made the most strides which has in turn improved my performance on the court.
“With the partnership of our tailored programme from the S&C staff’s knowledge, tips and motivation I definitely lifted a more than I thought I could. The attention to the small details is what has nailed it for not just me but the whole team.
“I would highly recommend DoTraining to anyone whether they are an elite athlete/team or not to make sure that physical targets are met. “

“From my very first session with DoTraining I was so glad i invested my time and money in him as my trainer. Having had several trainers in the past and been disappointed with the results, I was skeptical about hiring another trainer.
“DoTraining’s knowledge and programmes were great and they enabled me to achieve everything and more while I was working with him. I highly recommend DoTraining and Duncan as a trainer if you want to have fun, get motivated and get results fast.”

“DoTraining training sessions were awesome. Having spent the whole day at work I dreaded going to the gym after, but once I began working with Duncan and DoTraining I loved it and actually looked forward to it!
“He challenged me, motivated me and got me in great shape. I have seen great improvements in my body, I feel fitter, stronger and faster. Best of all I can play a whole 90 minutes on Sunday morning, and still be able to function come Monday….happy days.”
Kate Butters
GB Women’s Basketball Player.
“In my time as an International athlete I have been fortunate enough to have both individual and group contact with top quality, basketball specific, Strength and Conditioning (S&C) coaches. I was able to work with Duncan for the duration of two of the Senior GB European campaigns. Duncan was responsible for the fitness building, testing and then maintenance during the competition phase of the campaign.
“I found our S&C sessions to be of great benefit and well balanced in terms of meeting the requirements of the specific phase of training camp we were in. Sessions were always challenging and varied. The latter is something I feel to be of particular importance, especially in such as intense training environment where players are training 2/3 times daily; keeping the mind alert and interested in work is vital.
“I found Duncan very approachable, and I would not hesitate to ask for his S&C advice. He has a balance that I think is rare in an S&C coach, whereby, players want to work hard for him but yet do not feel intimidated so that they cannot ask questions/assistance.
“It was also refreshing to have Duncan offer his support and interest throughout the rest of the season (i.e, not simply during international training camps). I think this is a true reflection of his commitment to not only the programme he was involved in, but more importantly, the athletes he was dealing with.”
Mark Clark
Barking Abbey Academy Director, Former GB Women’s Basketball Head Coach.
“He brought a commitment, passion and technical knowledge that contributed to both the specific physical condition of the team and to the overall can do will do attitude that was developed throughout the programme.
“He worked extremely well with our medical staff and communicated effectively with myself and my coaching staff. He became a integral part of our management team. No role was too big or too small for Duncan. He would always simply do whatever it took to achieve our teams goals. “
Javier
Professional Basketball Player, Spain.
“I worked with Duncan through my off season, this was great for me as I achieved great things personally and with my team and most importantly I was able to stay injury free.
“I thank Duncan for helping me progress my career and recommend him highly to any athlete. He has changed my attitude to strength training and I now see a great value in investing my time and money on my conditioning throughout the whole year.”
Paul Guede
Great Britain Futures/Professional Basketball Player
“I worked with DoTraining in the off season from playing in Europe and the USA. I’m extremely happy with the work I put in on the court, but not only that; also the work I put in the weight room under the guidance of Duncan Ogilvie.
“His unique style, structure and tempo as to how the work is set up fitted me perfectly, some exercises which I had never come across which have all helped my body to continue to play at the level that I have been playing at and stepping up a level from NCAA to the pro European league.
“I lift twice a week now as I am in season, sometimes three and I continue to do the Duncan Ogilvie workout as I know it will allow me to play at my best each day and as for long term, it will give me a few more years on my professional career.”
Chantelle Handy
Great Britain Women/Professional Basketball Player, 2012 Olympian
“I worked with Duncan Ogilvie while playing with the Great Britain national team in 2007 and 2008. He was a great strength and conditioning coach. He worked with us in group workouts as well as one on one.
“He helped me with my strength and conditioning but also with things I needed to improve on the court. He had a great way to combine both S+C work with on court drills to make it really relative, basketball specific and constantly interesting and challenging.
“I like Duncan because he is dedicated to his work and he wouldn’t hesitate to help whenever we needed it. He really went the extra mile, way beyond his job description, he got us strong and in shape but he went out of his way to make us better by working us out on the court when we needed it.
“I would recommend Duncan as a strength and conditioning coach to anyone because he is dedicated to his work and wants the people he works with to improve as much as they can.”
